Manchester City attacker Leroy Sane is reportedly hopeful that he will be able to return from a serious knee injury before the end of the 2019-20 campaign.
Sane recently underwent knee surgery after damaging his anterior cruciate ligament during the Community Shield earlier this month.
The 23-year-old has been tipped to miss the remainder of the season, but according to The Sun, the Germany international is optimistic that he will be able to play some part for the Citizens this term.
Sane was strongly linked with a move to Bayern Munich before picking up the injury that ultimately scuppered a potential summer switch to the Allianz Arena.
The attacker, who has scored 39 times in 134 appearances for the Citizens, now has less than two years left to run on his contract at the Etihad Stadium.
Pep Guardiola's side will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they travel to Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon.
