Manchester City attacker Oscar Bobb has suffered another injury setback in what has been a frustrating injury-plagued 2024-25 campaign.

The 21-year-old was one of Man City's standout performers during last summer's pre-season tour of the United States and was tipped to start for Pep Guardiola's side in their opening Premier League game of the season away against Chelsea.

However, the Norway international suffered a fracture to a bone in his leg during a non-contact situation in training just days earlier and at the time was ruled out for up to four months.

The versatile attacker made a welcome return to team training at the beginning of January, but he had to wait until April 2 to make his first Premier League appearance of the season against Leicester City, after picking up a separate ankle problem during his recovery.

Bobb also made a brief substitute appearance in City's 5-2 victory over Crystal Palace almost a fortnight ago, but he has been left out of the matchday squad for the last two games against Everton and Aston Villa.

The reason behind the attacker's absence is because he damaged his hamstring ahead of last weekend's 2-0 win over Everton, according to the Daily Mail.

Bobb facing another spell on the sidelines with hamstring injury

Bobb's latest injury setback was initially confirmed by Norway head coach Stale Solbakken, who told NRK: "He has suffered another minor injury. I don't know anything about the time perspective, but it is not a serious injury."

Meanwhile, Norway team doctor Ola Sand did not deny Bobb's setback, adding: "He is a Manchester City player and they can inform about it if they want."

It is understood that Man City are hopeful that Bobb will return to Guardiola's squad before the end of the Premier League campaign, but he is now expected to miss Sunday's FA Cup semi-final clash with Nottingham Forest at Wembley Stadium.

Bobb has seemingly also emerged as a doubt for upcoming top-flight fixtures against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Etihad Stadium on May 2, and away to Southampton on May 10.

Man City will conclude their domestic campaign with Premier League games against Bournemouth and Fulham, and potentially an FA Cup final if they get the better of Forest.

Bobb is joined in the Citizens' treatment room by Rodri (ACL), Erling Haaland (ankle), Nathan Ake (foot), John Stones (thigh) and Ederson (groin), and Guardiola is set to offer an update on the fitness of his squad at a press conference on Friday. body check tags ::
