Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Manchester City on Monday, September 28.

The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Manchester City eye possible reinforcements.

The 2018-19 champions did not bring in a single player during the January transfer window, despite suffering a defensive shortage for much of the 2019-20 campaign, but they have already started their business for the summer.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings at the Etihad.

Monday morning's Manchester City transfer talk news roundup:

Manchester City 'agree Ruben Dias, Nicolas Otamendi swap'

Manchester City are reportedly closing in on the big-money signing of Benfica defender Ruben Dias.

Despite the recent arrival of Nathan Ake from Bournemouth, Pep Guardiola has remained keen to bring in another established centre-back.

Although the Premier League giants have been strongly linked with Sevilla's Jules Kounde, it appears that attention has been switched to wrapping up a deal for Dias.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, City are on the brink of signing the Portugal international in a proposal consisting of £50m plus Nicolas Otamendi.

The outgoing Argentina international is said to have agreed personal terms with Benfica, theoretically resulting in the deal being concluded once both players have come through their respective medicals.

Dias is ready to sign a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium.

Phil Foden set for lucrative Manchester City deal?

Manchester City reportedly intend to offer midfielder Phil Foden an extension to his long-term contract.

Having developed into a key player under Pep Guardiola, the England international is already tied to the Premier League giants until 2024.

However, according to 90 min, City officials are prepared to reward the 20-year-old for his recent progression by handing him a pay rise.

Any fresh deal will last until 2025 or 2026, with the report claiming that Foden will see a 400% increase in his wages.

Since coming through the club's academy system, the playmaker has scored 17 goals from 34 starts and 43 substitute appearances in all competitions.
