The buildup to the summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Manchester City eye possible reinforcements.
The 2018-19 champions did not bring in a single player during the January transfer window, despite suffering a defensive shortage for much of the campaign so far.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings at the Etihad.
Tuesday morning's Manchester City transfer talk news roundup:
Manchester City 'still in talks over Ferran Torres deal'
Manchester City are reportedly locked in negotiations with Valencia over a potential summer deal for winger Ferran Torres.
The Spaniard registered four goals and five assists for the La Liga outfit during the 2019-20 league campaign, but Torres now has under a year left to run on his current deal with Valencia.
City are believed to be leading the race for the 20-year-old's signature, but Valencia's valuation of Torres has supposedly hindered negotiations between the two clubs.
According to the Daily Mail, the La Liga outfit are holding out for a fee of £40m in spite of Torres' contract expiring at the end of next season.
The report claims that Torres is hopeful of a deal being reached, but Valencia are playing hardball and have also enquired about the possibility of City midfielder Yangel Herrera - who spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Granada - being included as part of a deal.
Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus are also said to be keeping a close eye on developments surrounding the future of Torres.
Barcelona 'make Manchester City defender Eric Garcia a key target'
Barcelona are reportedly ready to prioritise the signing of Manchester City defender Eric Garcia.
While the Catalan giants have recently been linked with attack-minded players, there is also a desire to strengthen at the back.
That has led to Garcia, a former youth player at Camp Nou, being identified as a target ahead of next season.
According to The Sun, Barcelona view the Spaniard as a long-term replacement for Gerard Pique, who turned 33 in February.
However, City are making every effort to agree a new five-year contract with the 19-year-old, also being prepared to treble his wages.
Garcia has made eight appearances for City since the resumption of action on June 17.
