Man City's Sergio Aguero: 'I didn't feel sorry for Steven Gerrard after slip'

Manchester City star Sergio Aguero admits that he didn't feel sorry for Steven Gerrard when he slipped against Chelsea during last season's title race.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has admitted that he had no sympathy for Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard when he gifted Chelsea a crucial win last season by slipping over.

The former England skipper lost his footing, which allowed Demba Ba to latch on to the loose ball and score the opening goal in Chelsea's eventual 2-0 win at Anfield.

The result put a huge dent in Liverpool's Premier League title charge as they went on to finish second, two points behind champions City.

In an extract published by the Manchester Evening News from Aguero's new book Born to Rise, the Argentine said: "I watched Liverpool's game later in the evening and I didn't feel sorry for Steven Gerrard when he slipped and Demba Ba scored, I was only bothered about what was important to us and that was that they lost.

"Not that I don't respect Gerrard, it was just his mistake helped Chelsea win which is what we needed to happen."

Aguero, who has won two league titles with City, has scored 11 goals in all competitions so far this season.
