Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli admits that he would be open to a move back to Italy.

Manchester City star Mario Balotelli has revealed that he does not enjoy living in the North West and would prefer a move back to Italy in the future.

The 20-year-old scored in City’s 3-0 win against Inter Milan to claim the Dublin Super Cup, which sparked praise from his manager Roberto Mancini.

Despite his comments, the former Internazionale player has admitted that he does not enjoy living in Manchester.

"I am not happy in Manchester," Balotelli told Italian TV. "I do not like the city. With my teammates and my manager, everything is fine, but the city is not to my tastes.

“I miss the chance to be at home with my family and with my friends."

The striker caused controversy last month in a pre-season friendly against LA Galaxy after he committed a failed back-heel towards goal. The Italian was quickly substituted by Mancini and displayed outrage for being benched.

Balotelli hinted that he might return to the San Siro in the future. He added: "Milan is a great team and one day, you cannot say what will happen. Inter again? We will see.

“At the moment, I am attached to Manchester. Adriano Galliani (the Milan chief executive) says that sooner or later I will go to Milan? I would like to, but we will see.

“Yes, I have chanted 'Forza Milan' in the past, that I was joking. One day, though, maybe."

The youngster’s comments echoed those of teammate Carlos Tevez, who expressed his dissatisfaction towards the city of Manchester.
