Barry Bannan: 'Manchester City should be afraid of Crystal Palace'

:Headline: Barry Bannan: 'Manchester City should be afraid of Crystal Palace': ID:151198: from db_amp
Crystal Palace midfielder Barry Bannan claims that Manchester City should be afraid of visiting Selhurst Park this weekend because of the Eagles' five-match winning run.

Barry Bannan has warned title-chasing Manchester City that they could be Crystal Palace's next victims when they face the in-form Eagles this Sunday afternoon.

The Citizens moved to within six points of Premier League leaders Liverpool courtesy of a comfortable 3-1 home victory over West Bromwich Albion on Monday.

Next up in their championship charge is a trip to Palace, who have secured their top-flight status for next season following a run of five successive wins which have lifted them to 11th in the table.

Chelsea and Everton have been among the teams to suffer at the hands of Tony Pulis's men in recent weeks, and midfielder Bannan has claimed that City should be afraid of joining their list of scalps as Palace will be playing with even more confidence now that their survival has been guaranteed.

"They should definitely," Bannan told Sky Sports News when asked if a visit to Selhurst Park next weekend should worry City.

"We're on a five-game winning run at the minute and we've played some very good teams in amongst there as well.

"Obviously we're safe now as well - we're playing without any fear and I think for any team coming here to Palace they won't be looking forward to it. Confidence is high and we can't wait to play the game."

Bannan, 24, has scored one goal in 17 appearances in all competitions for the Londoners this term.
