Manchester City's playing squad earned a huge £6.2m bonus for winning the Premier League title, according to reports.
The Independant understands that City owner Sheikh Mansour paid the sum, split among 24 city players, because the achievement was unprecedented in the club's recent history.
The squad shared the money on a pro-rata system based on appearances, with one league appearance last season worth £11,472.
Joe Hart was an ever-present during City's triumphant campaign and therefore earned the most from the deal, bringing home a bonus sum of £446,212.
The squad would also have been granted an additional £500,000 to win the FA Cup and a further £250,000 for success in the Carling Cup.
City will begin the quest to defend their title at home to Premier League newcomers Southampton on August 19.
