Father Ray Matus has revealed that Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini attended a church service with two of his players on the morning of their famous Premier League title triumph on May 13.
The Citizens clinched their first English championship in 44 years with a 3-2 win over Queens Park Rangers, courtesy of stoppage-time goals from Edin Dzeko and Sergio Ageuro.
Earlier that day, Mancini had been at ManĀchester's Holy Name Catholic church to attend 7.30am Mass.
Matus said: "He came to Mass with two players. At the end he spent an extra 15 minutes praying as others in the congregation waited outside for his autograph.
"He seemed quite calm and focused on winning."
City begin the defence of their trophy with a home game against Southampton on August 19.
