Paul Clement: 'Manchester City made Swansea City suffer'

Swansea City manager Paul Clement admits that his side were outclassed by Manchester City, whom he describes as "one of the best sides" he has come across.

Paul Clement has confessed that "it was hard to watch" his Swansea City side get taken apart by runaway leaders Manchester City on Wednesday evening.

The Swans became the 15th Premier League side in succession to fall short against the record-breaking Citizens, going down 4-0 at the Liberty Stadium.

Swansea barely put up a fight as a David Silva brace and goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero inflicted a sixth home defeat of the campaign on the Welsh outfit.

Speaking to BBC Sport after the match, Clement said: "At times it was horrible to be on the sideline watching that, seeing my side trying but suffering for long periods.

"They are not the games that will decide our season but it was hard to watch at times because they were so dominant. For me, one of the best sides I have ever come across.

"So many good athletes, so many intelligent footballers and it is really hard to pin them down. We actually had some attempts on their goal so I am disappointed we did not get on the score sheet, but they were a far superior side to us."

Swansea have gained just seven points at home this term - the worst record of any team in the Premier League.
