Edin Dzeko played the full 90 minutes in Bosnia-Herzegovina's friendly win against Wales on Wednesday night carrying a knee injury, his coach Safet Susic has revealed.
The friendly internationals scheduled just days before the start of the Premier League season have taken criticism from club managers and this news has not helped matters.
"There was a question about him starting because he has a problem with his knee and maybe he should not have played," Eurosport quotes Susic as saying.
"However I left it for him to decide whether he wanted to. There was a problem with his knee. We spoke and I said it was up to him."
Dzeko has scored 16 goals in 45 league appearances for City.
