Former Premier League official Dermot Gallagher has said that Watford should have been awarded a penalty in their game with Manchester City on Tuesday night.
With the Hornets trailing 3-1 during the latter stages, Nicolas Otamendi appeared to upend Roberto Pereyra inside the area, only for referee Lee Mason to dismiss Watford's appeals.
However, Gallagher has criticised the decision, suggesting that Mason should have been able to give the correct call due to the direction of the ball.
Gallagher told Sky Sports News: "Otamendi doesn't get the ball. He plays the man, and it's got to be a penalty. The angle of the ball shows the Watford player plays the ball."
City came through the final minutes to record victory at the Etihad Stadium.
