Javi Garcia has claimed that an extended run in the Manchester City team could boost his chances of earning a recall to the Spain squad.
Despite struggling to impress at the Etihad Stadium since joining from Benfica in August 2012, Garcia has refused to rule out the possibility of catching Vicente del Bosque's eye before the World Cup in the summer.
"I know it won't be easy to get into the Spain squad, but I will try my best and keep believing it's possible," the 27-year-old told reporters.
"Spain have an incredible midfield pool to choose from and they have done for the past four or five years so it is very difficult if you are a midfielder.
"I think the only way would be if I was in the City team playing a lot and playing well, and then maybe I'd get my chance. We'll have to wait and see on that one."
Garcia has earned just two Spain caps.
