Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is reportedly edging closer towards signing a contract extension at the Etihad.
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss is in the final year of his contract with City and has been linked with a sensational return to Camp Nou in recent months.
However, according to The Telegraph, Guardiola is set to put pen to paper on an extension in Manchester and there is little doubt in City's minds that he will commit his future to the club.
A recent report claimed that Guardiola staying at Man City would be one of the conditions that must be met for Lionel Messi to complete a move to the Etihad, with the Barcelona talisman allegedly wanting Sergio Aguero to stay put as well.
Guardiola has guided Manchester City to two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and three EFL Cups since arriving in England in 2016, winning 176 of his 245 games in charge at the Etihad.
The Spaniard's side currently lie 10th in the top-flight table after seven matches, with City facing a trip to Tottenham Hotspur after the international break.
