Kelechi Iheanacho admits that he is "not quite happy" to see Manuel Pellegrini leave Manchester City as manager.

Manchester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho has admitted that he is "not quite happy" that Manuel Pellegrini has left the club as manager.

The Chilean coach, whose last game in charge of the club was Sunday's 1-1 draw with Swansea City, will make way for his replacement Pep Guardiola this summer.

Nineteen-year-old Iheanacho has become a regular in City's squad this season, scoring 14 goals, and he is grateful for Pellegrini's guidance.

"I am not quite happy that he is going, but this is the football world and anything can happen," Iheanacho told reporters. "I just wish him good luck wherever he goes, and will be praying for him and hope to see the future.

"He is a special manager for me and has done great things in my life - he brought me into the first team, introducing me to work with the squad right from pre-season last year.

"I am happy for him, for everything he achieved with this team, and happy that he made me a part of it. I won't forget him, no matter where he goes. He is popular with the players. He makes people happy when they work with him because he likes to play football."

Pellegrini guided City to the Premier League title and two League Cups during his three-year spell in charge.
