Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has warned new teammate Kevin De Bruyne that he will not always be able to play in the number 10 position.
The Belgian, who joined the Sky Blues from Wolfsburg last month, came off the bench to make his City debut in the 1-0 victory against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Kompany has said that the wealth of attacking options that City have could mean that De Bruyne will have to play in more than one position.
"We have so many players who can play centrally behind the striker," Goal.com quotes him as saying. "[Samir] Nasri is a great player, [David] Silva is a great player, [Raheem] Sterling, [Jesus] Navas.
"I think we have about five players in that position all equally strong, and then always it will be a little change. You will be left once, at right, behind the striker, I think that's normal at this level."
City are top of the Premier League table having won all five of their games so far.
