Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has flown home from the club's tour of Asia with a calf injury.
The Belgian centre-back will return to England as a precautionary measure after picking up an injury in Friday's friendly against Arsenal in Beijing.
A short statement on City's official website read: "Vincent Kompany has flown to Europe for treatment on a calf injury and will play no further part in City's tour of Malaysia."
The 26-year-old, who signed a six-year deal with the club this week, will hope to be fit for the Community Shield against Chelsea on August 12 at Villa Park.
