Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has revealed that he has been playing through the pain of a knee injury over the last couple of weeks.
The Belgium international suffered the problem in training just a few days before the side's 3-2 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield on April 13.
However, the defender has insisted that he is close to regaining fitness after coming through City's 3-2 win over Everton on Saturday.
"I've really had some tough weeks," The Express quotes Kompany as saying. "I had to manage the pain and only been able to play, not train too much.
"At Everton I was feeling much better. I felt like I played with a plaster around my knee the last weeks. Now I feel fine. Physically I'm strong again."
The North-West outfit will be crowned Premier League champions on Sunday if they take four points from their last two games.
