Vincent Kompany has refused to give up hope of Manchester City winning the Premier League title this season.
City currently trail leaders and rivals Manchester United by five points with just seven matches remaining.
However, the captain has revealed that the City squad will not give in and is adamant that they will win the title at some point in the future.
"The reality is that it's not in our hands anymore," Kompany told the club's official website. "For us to get back in the race for the title we'll need other teams to take points off United and then we'll have to finish the job when we play them at the Etihad Stadium.
"We will keep believing; it's just not as easy as it would have been before. But I would like to stress the fact it shows we have made a lot of progress, as proved by the fact we're playing to win the league.
"I look to the future and it's not going to be long before we win the title, I can guarantee that."
City's next match is a trip to Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
