Manchester City have lodged an appeal against Vincent Kompany's red card against Arsenal yesterday afternoon.
The centre-back was handed his marching orders by referee Mike Dean in the 76th minute for a tackle on Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.
However, having reviewed video footage of the incident, City believe that the verdict was unjust and have opted to submit a challenge with the Football Association.
Should the FA uphold the original decision, captain Kompany will miss his side's next three matches.
