Manchester City have reportedly demanded an explanation from Carlos Tevez over why he is missing from training.
The striker defied club orders and returned to his native Argentina earlier this week, leading to threats of a second fine in as many months.
The club have emailed Tevez demanding an answer and to summon him to a disciplinary meeting in Manchester scheduled for early next week, according to The Sun.
Tevez's representatives have claimed that there was a misunderstanding between the club and player, leading him to believe that he was permitted to travel to South America.
The 27-year-old's latest actions have been condemned by PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor, who had previously forced City to reduce a fine imposed on the striker for refusing to warm up against Bayern Munich in September.
