Manchester City have confirmed that they will appeal the red card that Vincent Kompany received during Sunday's win at Arsenal.
The City captain was dismissed in the 75th minute of his side's 2-0 victory following a challenge on Jack Wilshere.
"It's not a red card," manager Roberto Mancini told Sky Sports News. "Absolutely not."
Kompany runs the risk of having an extra game added to his three-match ban if he is unsuccessful with an appeal.
