Roberto Mancini says that it is "important" for Manchester City to sell Carlos Tevez.

Roberto Mancini has admitted that Carlos Tevez must be sold in January for the good of the club and the striker.

The Argentina international is believed to be in talks with AC Milan over a possible transfer.

"I don't know the situation with Carlos at the moment," said Mancini. "I think it's important to sell him because for him and for the club. If he has the chance to go to Italy, I'm happy for him."

The Italian boss also confirmed that Kolo Toure denied criticising the North West club.
