New Manchester City signing Eliaquim Mangala has talked up the strength in depth of the club's defensive ranks following his move from Porto.
The France international centre-back officially confirmed his £32m switch from the Portuguese side on Monday, and he admitted that he is fully of aware of the competition he faces for a spot in the City first team this coming season.
He told the club's official website: "Vincent Kompany and Martin Demichelis are two players who possess great experience. Vincent is the captain of Manchester City and the Belgium national team.
"Demichelis has enjoyed a great career. He played for Bayern Munich and he is now at Manchester City and has a big experience behind him.
"They are players that I can look at and from whom I will learn a lot. They will have lots of advice for me regarding what they have already experienced. They are players that have lived through a lot of big moments and have a big experience so it can only be beneficial for me."
Managala becomes City's fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Fernando, Willy Caballero and Bacary Sagna.
