Manuel Pellegrini has reportedly turned down the chance to manage the Brazilian national side.
The role has only been vacant for less than 24 hours following the resignation of Luiz Felipe Scolari in the wake of Brazil's exit from the World Cup.
However, the Football Federation moved quickly to secure a replacement by making an offer to Pellegrini, according to Chilean outlet El Mercurio.
The report adds that Pellegrini rejected the proposal because he is eager to fulfil his contract at Manchester City, whom he guided to the Premier League title and League Cup trophy last season.
