Former Manchester City boss Mark Hughes believes that nobody "really knows" what happened between Carlos Tevez and the City staff during the controversial exchanges in Germany.
The 27-year-old has been accused of refusing to play for the North West side during their Champions League meeting with Bayern Munich.
Despite these claims, the Argentina international's agent Kia Joorabchian has backed the frontman's statement that he did not refuse to come off the bench.
"Everybody needs a little bit of clarity on what actually did happen, and no-one really knows apart from the people that were involved," Hughes told talkSPORT.
"It's important that there are two sides to every story and if there has been some confusion or misinterpretation about the messages that were given, either by the manager or by the player, then that needs to be cleared up for the benefit of Manchester City, the player and his manager."
Tevez has served the two-week suspension administered by the Premier League club.
