Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has hailed Sergio Aguero as the best striker in the Premier League following his hat-trick against Chelsea this evening.
The Argentine scored all of the goals in his side's 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge to take his tally for the season up to 21, just one behind leading marksman Harry Kane.
Aguero has played significantly fewer minutes than Kane this season, though, and Pellegrini questioned why the 27-year-old has never won the Player of the Year award.
"I am sure he is the best striker in the league, he makes a difference playing every game," he told Sky Sports News.
"He is a very important player and it is strange in so many years he plays here he is not the best player of the league."
Aguero is only the fifth player to score 20 or more goals in three Premier League seasons, after Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Les Ferdinand.
