Police have launched an investigation into an incident between an unnamed Manchester City player and supporters following the club's match against Newcastle United at St James' Park this afternoon.
The alleged altercation is believed to have taken place after the final whistle had been blown.
However, no further details have been released by the authorities or either club as yet.
