Patrick Vieira will reportedly be among the candidates to replace Manuel Pellegrini as Manchester City manager, should the Chilean leave the Etihad this summer.
Pellegrini has come under fire following City's recent slump in form, which has seen them exit the Champions League and slip to fourth in the Premier League, 12 points adrift of leaders Chelsea.
Jurgen Klopp has been linked with the City job following his announcement that he will leave Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season.
Vieira is currently in charge of City's Under-21 side and it had been suggested that the 38-year-old would be willing to step in on a temporary basis if Pellegrini were sacked before the end of the current campaign.
The former Arsenal and City midfielder will be on a shortlist of candidates if Pellegrini leaves in the summer, according to Sky Sports News.
City have six games left to play this season.
