Sunderland have been handed a misconduct charge by the Football Association.
The FA have punished the Black Cats for failing to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion against Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.
The charge relates to the reaction of the Sunderland squad to the awarding of a 43rd-minute penalty for City, which Mario Balotelli went on to convert.
A plea to the charge must be lodged before 4pm next Wednesday.
