Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez and Paris Saint-Germain playmaker Javier Pastore have both been left out of the Argentina squad for the upcoming games against Ecuador and Brazil.
Coach Alejandro Sabella has named 18 foreign-based players for the June fixtures and will complete the squad with home-based players next week.
La Liga stars Lionel Messi and Gonzalo Higuain have been included, as have City duo Sergio Aguero and Pablo Zabaleta.
The biggest surprise is the selection of uncapped defender Matias Rodriguez, who plays in Chile for Universidad.
