Tevez: ‘I want to stay at Man City’

Carlos Tevez says that he plans to stay at Eastlands as long as the situation is right for his family.

Carlos Tevez has said that he is happy to stay at Manchester City as long as the situation is right for his family.

The striker, who submitted and then withdrew a transfer request in December, has been linked with a trip to Spain or Italy. However, he has claimed a move away from Eastlands would be a personal decision rather than a professional one.

The 27-year-old, whose children are in Buenos Aires, told reporters: "My family are my priority, I don't have a problem with anyone at the club. Everyone treats me right. There are still two games to play and we are only focused on that. Then I will talk with my family and everyone else. I have not made a decision on anything yet.

"The club wants to me stay and I also want to stay if everything is okay for my family.”

He added that the prospects of the team, which took the FA Cup in a 1-0 victory over Stoke on Saturday, would be an incentive to remain at City. "Winning the title is a great motivation for me to stay, it would make me so happy,” he said. “It is what we all want and need - although now it's time to celebrate winning the cup.

"Here we are trying to build a team to win trophies including the Premier League and we are focusing on that. But we remember very well that flag at Old Trafford which taunts City. Now it makes me very happy that they will have to take it down."
