Yaya Toure has revealed that he is "suffering" over having to leave Manchester City to go on international duty with Ivory Coast.
Toure and his brother Kolo will miss out on City's FA Cup third round clash with Manchester United as they depart for the African Cup of Nations.
"I am very sad. Missing the FA Cup derby is a real pain after I have spent weeks trying to seek a solution," Toure said.
"But the Federation would not accept us leaving it to Sunday. I am suffering a lot over this."
Both Mancini and Toure had pleaded with Ivory Coast to delay the departure until after the cup tie.
