Carlos Tevez scored a late winner as Manchester City beat Wigan Athletic 1-0 to keep alive their slim hopes of retaining the Premier League title.
Despite both sides enjoying spells of domination in the first half, chances were difficult to come by early on at the Etihad Stadium.
Wigan created the first clear opportunity of the match when Shaun Maloney's flick found Franco Di Santo, but the striker was denied by a superb Joe Hart save.
The Premier League champions finished the half the better of the two sides, with Aleksandar Kolarov firing wide from distance.
Wigan continued to threaten in the second period and were unlucky not to take the lead when Maloney created space for himself inside the box but his effort was cleared by Joleon Lescott.
Man City enjoyed more possession as the match progressed but Hart was once again tested when substitute Callum McManaman fired a shot at the England goalkeeper.

Wigan seemed to be closing in on a crucial point in their battle against relegation but Tevez ended hopes of a positive result for the Latics when he beat two defenders before drilling the ball into the top corner seven minutes from time.
