Jason Denayer's agent has confirmed that he has held "positive discussions" with Marseille over a potential move to the Ligue 1 club.
The Manchester City defender spent last season with Scottish champions Celtic, and the Belgian international had hinted that he would be open to a return to the Hoops this term.
However, Denayer's representative Jesse de Preter has revealed that OM are in negotiations with the Citizens over a possible loan switch for the 20-year-old.
He told Foot Mercato: "I can confirm that Marseille are interested and that we have had very, very positive discussions with them. It is now more up to City to say yes or no.
"There are lots of candidates, many clubs have contacted me. Two are very interested, Marseille and a Turkish club. They have also contacted City directly.
"They have shown themselves to be concretely interested in having Jason and are ready to give him an important place in their team."
Denayer has won three caps for Belgium since his international debut against Israel earlier this year.
