Bayern Munich are reportedly not prepared to entertain a summer exit for Joshua Kimmich.

The 28-year-old has again been a vital player for the German champions during the 2022-23 campaign, featuring on 45 occasions in all competitions, contributing seven goals and 11 assists in the process.

Kimmich only has another two years left to run on his contact at Allianz Arena, though, and there have recently been suggestions that the Germany international is considering his future at club level.

Barcelona are believed to be desperate to sign the midfielder, with the Catalan outfit allegedly making an opening move in an attempt to secure his services during the summer transfer window.

However, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Bundesliga champions will refuse to sell Kimmich in the upcoming market under any circumstances.

Romano claims that Bayern view Kimmich as 'untouchable', and the club have 'no intention to negotiate' a potential summer move despite the recent suggestions.

The German has been with the Munich giants since July 2015, making 345 appearances during a highly-successful spell, scoring 40 goals and registering 94 assists in the process.

Kimmich has also helped Bayern win seven Bundesliga titles, three German Cups and the Champions League, but he has reportedly become unsettled at the club.

The midfielder is said to have been disappointed by Julian Nagelsmann's dismissal as head coach, while there is believed to be tension in the dressing room at Bayern.

Barcelona are attempting to re-sign Lionel Messi this summer, with the Argentina international set to leave Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer at the end of June.

However, it is unclear how much business the Catalan outfit will be able to do in the upcoming market due to their ongoing financial problems.

Sergio Busquets's departure will remove a large salary from the budget, though, and put Xavi's side in the market for a replacement for the long-serving central midfielder.

Manchester City are also believed to be keeping a close eye on the situation surrounding Kimmich, with Citizens head coach Pep Guardiola said to be a huge admirer of his talents.

Bayern have demonstrated a willingness to let unsettled players leave in recent years despite their status, with Toni Kroos, David Alaba and Robert Lewandowski among those to seek pastures new.
