Manchester City have contacted Belgian side Anderlecht regarding a possible deal for midfielder Dennis Praet, according to reports.
The playmaker impressed for the Brussels-based outfit during their short-lived Champions League campaign this season and the Daily Mail claims that the Blues are closely monitoring his progress.
However, City face an obstacle regarding UEFA's financial fair play regulations and have been restricted in terms of their transfer plans.
It is thought that even if a deal for Praet were to be struck this month, the £10m-rated star could be loaned back to Anderlecht for another season.
City may also look to move soon in a bid to beat Borussia Dortmund to the 20-year-old's signature.
