Manchester City have reportedly identified Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Oyarzabal as a potential summer signing.

While Pep Guardiola has previously suggested that City will not be active in January, the Premier League giants are expected to strengthen ahead of the start of next season.

With doubts remaining over the long-term future of Leroy Sane, Guardiola has been left to contemplate possible replacements for the German winger.

According to TEAMtalk, City could make a move for Oyarzabal, who is being tipped to make the switch to a top European club after starring at Sociedad.

Since coming through the academy setup, the versatile 22-year-old has contributed 42 goals from 160 appearances in all competitions.

However, the Spain international still has just under five years remaining on his contract with the La Liga club.
