Manchester City have reportedly decided to offer Andres Iniesta a player-coach role at the Etihad Stadium.
Iniesta is ending his 22-year stint with Barcelona and although the playmaker has been heavily linked with a switch to either China or Japan, a deal is yet to be reached.
That continues to let in City and according to Yahoo! Sport, the Premier League champions are showing an interest in making the Spaniard a player-coach.
Pep Guardiola could be about to lose one of his backroom staff in the North-West, with Mikel Arteta being tipped to replace Arsene Wenger as manager of Arsenal, and Iniesta is seemingly regarded as the ideal replacement.
The report suggests that Iniesta currently favours the co-role in England's top flight over a switch to Asia.
