Manchester City are on the verge of finalising terms on a new long-term deal for Kevin De Bruyne at the Etihad Stadium, according to a report.
The 26-year-old has been one of the standout players during the Citizens' record-breaking start to the Premier League season, scoring six goals and assisting eight more.
De Bruyne still has three-and-a-half years to run on his existing contract, but Man City are keen to tie him down beyond 2021 following recent rumoured interest from elsewhere on the continent.
BBC Sport suggests that an announcement is close to being made, with the Belgium international likely to be rewarded with an increased salary.
The same report claims that City are also hopeful of reaching an agreement with fellow midfielder Fernandinho, who is free to speak to foreign clubs from next month over a free summer transfer.
