Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland reportedly wants to join Barcelona in this summer's transfer window.
The 21-year-old is set to be one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe when his release clause, worth in the region of €75m (£62.5m), becomes active this summer.
Barca head coach Xavi recently told reporters that he has "nothing to announce" after he and sporting advisor Jordi Cruyff allegedly held talks with Haaland and his agent Mino Raiola in Munich last week regarding a transfer to Camp Nou this summer.
Nevertheless, Sport reports that Haaland has been 'seduced' by the project carried out by the Catalan giants, who are focusing on younger players for the future as well as adopting an attractive philosophy under the tutelage of Xavi.
The report adds that Barcelona view Manchester City as their main rival in the race to sign Haaland, with the Norway international also attracted by a potential switch to the Etihad Stadium to work under Pep Guardiola.
Despite their recent financial struggles, Barcelona believe they will have the funds available to sign Haaland, in a deal which could be worth a staggering €250m (£208m), including a transfer fee, wages, bonuses and agent fees.
Haaland, who has also been linked with Real Madrid, has scored 80 goals in just 79 appearances for Dortmund across all competitions. body check tags ::
