Fiorentina have downplayed rumours linking Manchester City forward Stevan Jovetic with a return to the Serie A club.
The Italian outfit are short on striking options after Giuseppe Rossi and Mario Gomez picked up injuries.
They have also been linked with another of their former players, Adrian Mutu of Romanian side Petrolul Ploiesti, but the club's honorary president Andrea Della Valle is not optimistic about landing either player.
"We are looking for high quality reinforcements but it is not easy to find a player like Giuseppe Rossi in the January transfer window," Sky Sports News quotes him as saying.
When quizzed about Jovetic and Mutu, he added: "We are attached to them, but these suggestions are very difficult. It is virtually impossible for Jovetic to come back."
Jovetic has made just five appearances for City due to injury problems.
