Baggies boss Roy Hodgson is reportedly ready to return for Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha in January.
Hodgson, who has met with the club's chairman to discuss his budget, is understood to be targeting the Citizens defender on loan until the end of the season after almost securing a similar move in the summer.
"I've had a meeting with the chairman to discuss what we will do in January," he said.
"I'm pretty sure the club will do its best and if there's any players we do need we'll be able to do it within the parameters we work with."
Onuoha spent last season on loan at Sunderland, during which time he made 31 appearances for the Black Cats and scored one goal.
