Everton are reportedly prepared to hand Mason Holgate a new contract to see off interest from Manchester City.
While Holgate has spent much of his Toffees career as a squad member, the 23-year-old has made 18 starts in the Premier League this season.
The form of the versatile defender has allegedly led to Man City considering a summer offer as Pep Guardiola looks to make changes to his first-team squad.
However, according to The Sun, the Merseyside outfit are happy to hand Holgate fresh terms, which would include a substantial pay-rise.
The Englishman has under two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract, while it is claimed that he is currently one of the lowest earners in the first-team squad.
