Manchester City winger Adam Johnson has reportedly begun talks with Sunderland over a proposed loan move.
The 25-year-old, who had limited first-team opportunities with the Premier League champions last season, has been linked with a possible temporary switch to the Stadium of Light in recent weeks.
It is understood that the England international is close to a move to the North-East club after both parties began discussions over a loan agreement, according to Sky Sports News.
Liverpool and Everton were also thought to have expressed an interest in the City player.
