Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has reportedly decided to pledge his future to the North West club by turning down an offer to join Barcelona.
The Belgium international is believed to have been placed on the Spanish giants' transfer wishlist following an impressive title-winning season with the blue half of Manchester.
It is understood that the Copa del Rey winners are prepared to offer the 26-year-old a contract worth £160,000 a week, but reports have claimed that Kompany is prepared to snub any offers in favour of staying at the Etihad Stadium, according to the Daily Star.
Kompany, who moved to City from Hamburg in 2008 for £6m, is believed to be closing in on a new deal with the Premier League champions.
