Manchester City target Aymeric Laporte has signed a new four-year contract with Athletic Bilbao.
The defender is now attached to the Spanish club until June 2020, with his buyout clause rising to €65m (£51m) for the first two years of the deal and €70m (£55m) in 2018.
Laporte, who has also been linked with Spanish champions Barcelona, was previously contracted to Bilbao until 2019 with a €50m (£39m) release clause.
The 22-year-old is still sidelined after breaking his leg playing for France Under-21s in March, but is understood to be making a good recovery.
Previous reports suggested that City were on the verge of signing Laporte, with Sky Blues boss Pep Guardiola said to be keen to bolster his defence further by also recruiting Everton's John Stones.
