Leeds United have reportedly identified Manchester City winger Ian Poveda as a potential January signing.
Having made just one first-team appearance for City since leaving Brentford's academy earlier in his career, Poveda has been given permission to leave the Etihad Stadium.
Torino appear to be the favourites to sign the 19-year-old after he attended their most recent Serie A fixture, while Celtic and Parma have also been credited with an interest in the Englishman.
However, according to the Daily Mail, Leeds have made contact with City as they attempt to negotiate a deal with the Premier League giants.
The two clubs hold a strong working relationship with Pep Guardiola having been willing to loan prospects to Marcelo Bielsa's side in the past.
With Poveda having less than six months remaining on his contract, City may prefer to do business with Leeds rather than watch the prospect potentially agree a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club.
