Manchester City have reportedly halted their pursuit of Brighton and Hove Albion left-back Marc Cucurella.
The Premier League champions have been targeting Cucurella as a replacement for Oleksandr Zinchenko, who recently joined Arsenal for £32m.
On Friday, the Spaniard made his intentions clear by submitting a transfer request to Brighton in the hope of completing a move to the Etihad Stadium.
However, according to The Sun, Cucurella is set to remain on the South coast after the Seagulls ended talks with Man City.
Brighton were believed to be frustrated with City's negotiation tactics, with Pep Guardiola's side offering £30m, falling well below the £50m asking price.
The Seagulls are still open to reopen negotiations for the sale of Cucurella - who joined from Getafe last summer - if City are prepared to present an offer that meets their valuation.
Cucurella made 30 appearances for the South coast side last summer, and he is currently contracted until 2026. body check tags ::
