Manchester City have reportedly set their sights on Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara as they make their plans for next summer's transfer window.
Manuel Pellegrini strengthened his squad by signing the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling in the summer, but reports had suggested that the club were interested in bringing in Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.
A move for the Frenchman never materialised, and with rumours claiming that Pogba could be on the way to Barcelona at the end of the season, Goal.com reports that City have turned their focus to Thiago.
After battling injuries in the early stages of his Bayern career, the 24-year-old has become a key man for Pep Guardiola but Arturo Vidal's arrival means that competition is fierce in midfield.
Thiago joined Bayern from Barcelona in the summer of 2013.
